One of the most rewarding aspects of my job dog walking is building trust with animals. When I first met Chunky she was very scared of me as a stranger and hid behind her owner, Kirsty. Over the weeks I've been working really hard to earn her trust and it has been growing with every walk. Today I felt I had earned it completely and this meant that Chunky could have some well deserved time off the lead. Kirsty had given permission for this to happen and it was a fantastic moment for me and the dogs. She is the sweetest little thing and whenever we are out dog walking I can hear her tiny breath at the back of my legs as she doesn't like to be far away from me at all. Then suddenly she will dart out and run, run, run, in a wide arc which turns into a spiral, chasing her sister, Peanut. Lady, the mum of the two puppies is a more refined lady and takes a real interest in smells in the hedges, then runs back to me when called. Peanut, the other daughter is just full of life and vim. It is a pleasure dog walking with these dogs.
